Development begins on Mistletoe Cottage

William’s family moved to Herefordshire in 2012 to set up a small stable yard for their Percheron horses and dogs.  Five years later, they have four donkeys, six horses and seven dogs, ducks, chickens and 1 huge cat!

As a part of the property is not being used for animal purposes, they have kindly allowed us (William and Simon) to use an old disused stable block and surrounding land, to be demolished, and re built as a holiday home. Many of you who have met William will know that he needs a project (!), and this is the next one! Designing and creating this is all very exciting.

Choosing tiles, paint colours, furniture (Yes, already!), floor coverings, kitchen materials, and whether to have one, two or three showers, is all part of the initial work, and eventually, the two-bedroom house will be able to sleep 6. With the addition of a Shepherd’s Hut planned for late 2018 in the outside garden area, this will provide sleeping space for two extra people who can use the downstairs facilities, whilst four people use the en-suite bedrooms.

It has taken almost two years from concept to getting planning permission approved, and now the work starts on finalising the detailed plans, and appointing contractors to survey and build. We are very excited about the project, and if you are keen to find out more, please see our new website: www.mistletoecottagekinnersley.co.uk

Summer 2018 is the target date for opening, so if you ever find yourself thinking about a relaxing time away in deepest Herefordshire, you may have already found the ideal location!

Centrally placed for Hay-on-Wye, Leominster, Hereford and the surrounding towns, it really is a beautiful part of the world.

We’ll keep you posted!
