Plans for your holiday

Many people believe that the journey towards your holiday destination is as important as the holiday itself, and as we have made many journeys to Kinnersley over the past year or so, we always think the three hours to get there is a beautiful introduction to one of the most beautiful counties in England.

Whether you’re 3½ hours from Leeds, 3 hours from Manchester, 4½ hours from Norwich or just 2 hours from Oxford, there are so many places to stop and enjoy on the way, so that when you get to Mistletoe Cottage, you’re thoroughly chilled and ready to start your holiday.

As new guests come and enjoy the comfort of Mistletoe Cottage, many of them tell us what they’ve been up to while they are staying in the area.

Nature walks and cycle rides, history and heritage, family activities and adventures, quality food, cider and delis, books and art, there is something for everyone all within a short distance of Kinnersley. Bring the dogs and let them have a holiday too!

Take a look at our website to see just a few of the local attractions, and make your plans to explore this delightful area.

For guests who have opted in to receive emails from our Old House database (thank you for signing up to our GDPR), we have an exclusive offer to make to you. We’d love you to come and relax for a week at Mistletoe Cottage next year, and if you make your 2019 holiday booking before 31st December this year, your rate will be 20% less than the advertised rate on the website.

The website for Mistletoe Cottage is now up and running, so you can read more about the cottage and its features. And if you do fancy a week away, you can book online and everything will be done for you. Easy to book, Easy to stay and relax. When you book, please quote ‘OLDHOUSE2019’ and the discount will be applied automatically.

As one of our special Old House Customers, you can pick your week before the cottage is promoted nationally later on.

The Arrival of the Shepherd’s Hut

At Mistletoe Cottage, four people can sleep comfortably in two double rooms, both with en-suite facilities. Sometimes, wouldn’t it be nice to have a couple of additional guests? Maybe some friends, perhaps the children, or even the in-laws?

From Spring 2019, the new Shepherd’s hut will be positioned at the top of the garden, ready to welcome additional guests.

The hut inside provides sleeping for one or two people; there is electricity, a small woodburner, and a table and chairs. There is a kettle to use, and a flask to bring over the milk from the house.

We don’t make any extra charge to use the hut, but we do ask that you provide your own bedding/sleeping bags and towels, etc., for the people staying in there.

An independent shower and loo are available on the ground floor in the cottage, so guests in the hut can pop across and use the facilities there. And of course, if there’s just two or four people in the cottage, the shepherd’s hut can be used to sit out and enjoy the garden with a drink as you relax during the day and evening.

Our website will cover all the details of adding the shepherd’s hut to your stay, and we do hope that you can stay with a little touch of adventure to your week away from home.
