We’ll tailor your weekend as you like it. The team at Viva and ourselves will ensure you have plenty of time to arrive in Higham Ferrers where you can check-in to your rooms, take a walk around the town or Rushden Lakes if you like, or enjoy a drink or a light lunch at one of the local bars or cafés.

Your chosen treatments can be booked ahead, and add others as you go. When you’re ready to choose your evening destination, we will make a booking for you and arrange a taxi, so it leaves you time to relax and enjoy.

Upgraded en-suite bathrooms

Since we moved our boutique guest accommodation from The Old House in the Market Square, to a little lane tucked just behind  – at No.1 Hind Stile, we have always been concerned that our bathrooms did not live up to the standard that we set out to deliver to our guests.

While we have been closed for the past few months, we have taken the opportunity to upgrade both bedrooms with brand new en-suite bathrooms.

In the Pytchley Room (the one with the four-poster bed), you can now access straight through to your own bathroom, with a tub and overhead rain shower and hand-held wand. The bath is perfect for a long hot soak, and if you’re in a bit of a hurry in the morning, the shower is great for a fresh start.

The Oakley Room (the other one!), now has a much larger bathroom. The Albion rolltop bath is so comfortable for a bit of pampering and relaxing with your favourite potions and lotions, and the overhead rain shower and hand-held wand gives you a good drench to start the day.

Hooray!

After almost four months of the weirdest experience the world has seen, we are delighted to say that we are now able to re-open No.1 Hind Stile Boutique Guest Accommodation in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire and at Mistletoe Cottage in Kinnersley, Herefordshire.

As always, our guests at No.1 Hind Stile will be welcomed in our usual style from Saturday 11th July. Behind the scenes, we are once again cooking on an Aga cooker and are ready to deliver our famous breakfasts. 

Both our bedrooms now have brand new en-suite bathrooms. The large Albion bath in the Oakley suite is perfect for a long soak, and a relaxing pampering session after a long day. If you’d like a quick shower in the morning, there’s plenty of space. You don’t have to go far to the bathroom in the Pytchley room now – all en-suite with a deep tub and overhead rain shower. Halfiti is made by Penhaligons and the toiletries have a unique scent that offer a little mystique.With our fluffy towels, we’d love you to feel as though you are very comfortable and relaxed in your bathroom.

The Sitting Room at the front of the house is reserved exclusively for our guests, to read, enjoy a chat, sip a coffee or a drink – just somewhere to chill that is not your bedroom.

Back in the bedroom, our usual selection of antiques, classic pictures and comfortable beds, where we invite you to climb in for a good night’s sleep under luxurious bed linens.

At Mistletoe Cottage, it’s all been very quiet in the heart of the county, and we are delighted to re-open on Saturday 11thJuly. Many of our customers who could not take their holidays between March and July have deferred their dates and have booked for later in 2020, and some into 2021 – Thank you very much!

There are still some weeks left, and rather than have all that hassle travelling abroad, get the family and a suitcase or two into the car, and head off to Herefordshire. Read through our website, and you’ll see there’s plenty to do for people with all preferences. Check our partners’ websites (www.EatSleepLiveHerefordshire.co.uk ), and they will offer many, many more ideas for things to do while you are away from home.While we’ve been closed, we have added some great new comfortable outside furniture (picture), so keep your fingers crossed for some lovely warm summer weather, so you can enjoy the life as you relax outdoors.

Come and create a Christmas Wreath in Higham Ferrers

We’ve only just got over a very weird Springtime, but already, people are thinking about Christmas, and how they can make the most of the festive period with their friends and family that they have missed for a long time.

Here’s an idea to get you into the festive spirit during early December.

Stay for the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December – Team up with another couple and travel to Higham Ferrers – enjoy Saturday looking around Rushden Lakes, Olney or Oundle, and be back at No.1 Hind Stile for 6.00 pm when you will spend a couple of hours making your own festive wreath. 

FM Tents (@fmtents) will host the evening and help you with your creation. Your own design can be personalised – just bring some baubles and accroutrements to add to your wreath. Or, we will have plenty of objects and foliage for you to create your own decoration to take back home. 

There’s space for eight people to make wreaths, so others will join you for this part of the event. Mulled wine and mince pies included!

For other Christmas ideas, Goose & Grey (@goose_and_grey) will be on hand for more gift suggestions and presents to purchase, and when you’ve finished your creation, a quick freshen-up and we will have booked you a restaurant of your choice, to while away the rest of the evening.

Back to No.1 Hind Stile for a peaceful and restful sleep, before waking for our famous Aga breakfast on Sunday morning.
