William and Simon decided that they would recognise and honour those employees and key workers who have relieved much of the pressure of the virus, by their work in the NHS. Through Social Media, we offered a 50% discount to all NHS employees to take their holiday when they were able, at Mistletoe Cottage, so they could just rest and recuperate after the additional pressure they had experienced at their places of work. We’re delighted that many people took our offer and we welcomed several couples and families to enjoy the peacefulness of Herefordshire – away from the humdrum of the previous months.

Since July, we’ve had a full order book for Mistletoe, and there are just a couple of weeks left in December. Check our online diary to book now.

Now, it’s your turn for thinking about your Staycation! We are offering our short breaks for customers who just love the thought of getting away for a mini break. There’s space enough for 6 people, including two in the Shepherd’s Hut, and loads of lounge and dining space so room enough for everyone.

Whether it is for a full week or two, or just a 3-night or 4-night break, Herefordshire provides a great location to get away from it all. The scenery is stunning as are the delightful towns and villages, where the welcome is friendly, and the old-fashioned quaintness brings the feeling of rural England in a 21st century environment.

There’s nature walks and cycle rides, history and heritage, family activities and adventures, quality food, cider and delis, books and art, there is something for everyone all within a short distance of Kinnersley. Bring the dogs and let them have a holiday too!

Take a look at our website to see just a few of the local attractions, and make your plans to explore this delightful area.

You can read more about the cottage and its features, and if you do fancy a break away, you can book online and everything will be done for you. Easy to book. Easier to stay and relax.

The County of Shoemakers

For centuries, Northampton Town and Northamptonshire County have been renowned for making some of the best footwear in the world.

The finest brand of shoe and boot makers in the county is Joseph Cheaney who set up home in Desborough to the west of the County in 1886.

Over the past few years the brand has been rejuvenated to become a quality and renowned footwear company selling worldwide. This British and privately-owned company are fully committed to producing the finest footwear entirely made in England.

Cheaney is honoured that it was awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2016. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious business awards, given only to companies or individuals who are outstanding in their field.

This is the third time Cheaney has been awarded this honour, the previous times being in 1966 and 1971.

You can visit the Factory Shop in Desborough – just 25 minutes from Higham Ferrers, and it is well worth the visit to purchase Mens’ and Ladies’ shoes and boots at factory shop prices.

Relax with a Yoga Break

Sometimes, we forget to take care of ourselves, and particularly, our inner selves. And, it’s all been a bit difficult for most people over the last few months.

The Inner Healing School of Yoga is based in Rushden, and we have teamed up with David who is the Director at the school to offer a Yoga break, staying at No.1 Hind Stile.

The School was established in 1987 and its principles are taught in such a way that its therapeutic qualities are given high priority. You can attend sessions that are so gentle that you simply feel nurtured, or you can attend a Yoga session which is more challenging to the breath.

The breath influences every single part of you, from individual cells to mind energy and it is an indicator or emotional, mental and physical fitness. Regular sessions will experience its healing qualities in different ways.

The Inner Healing School of Yoga is a member of the Independent Yoga Network and its courses are validated by the Independent Professional Therapists International.

Depending on availability, you can stay at No.1 Hind Stile for two nights with breakfast, and enjoy Yoga from £170 per person. Where two people attend, the price is from £250.

Let’s chat and tailor-make your stay to your requirements. We can recommend places to eat and visit to complement your short break.

To book, email via our website – www.no1hindstile.co.uk or call Simon or William on 01933 314006.

We will put you in touch with David, so you can discuss your individual needs with him. He will also meet you prior to your Yoga session so you can get the best from your experience.

Improved Bathrooms at No.1 Hind Stile

What do you do when you’ve got a few months off with no business and not much else to do? Well! we look for ways to improve our Guest Experience, for when people to come back to visit.

Our bathrooms were a niggling thing for us. One of them was across the landing, meaning that it was private, but not en-suite; and the second was very tiny with just a shower, and was quite difficult even to brush your teeth!

So, we jiggled some of the walls around, and have made two beautiful bathrooms for the two bedrooms – both en-suite, both large, and ones of which we are very proud.

The new private bathroom in the Pytchley Room has a large double-ended bath with an overhead rain shower and hand-held wand – just right for a hot invigorating start to the day, or a long soak in the evening.

Penhaligon’s Halfeti is the exotic scent we have chosen for hand soap and shower gel for you to enjoy. The fragrance was named after a small Turkish village, where charming Halfeti black roses bloom on the coasts of the Euphrates river. The roses are very rare and with a combination of bergamot, citruses and other herbs and spices, provide a mysterious and luxurious rich woody-floral aroma.

Car Parking for guests is available free of charge, on the Market Square from 4.30 p.m. until 10.00 a.m. each day and No.1 Hind Stile is just a 2 minute walk away from the Square.
